Meeting place: Jurong East MRT station (ice skating) - 11am
City Hall Mrt Station (steamboat) - 5pm
Money to bring: $30 ( ice skating $15, steamboat $15)

Ok guys, if you all are going for the ice skating then meet at jurong east mrt station at 11am. Please bring gloves, and wear long pants/jeans. If you scared your shirt get wet, bring extra shirt along.

After ice skating, we will be going for steamboat at a steamboat shop opposite shaw centre. Please meet at city hall mrt station at 5pm for those that are not going for the ice skating.

Hey there!

I got great news. Many of us will be available on 3th Oct, which is next week Friday. So the class outing will be set on that day itself. There is a split vote on ice skating and steamboat. Since we can't seem to get a defintie decision so I suggest that we go for both. We go for ice skating first then go for steamboat in the evening. Its the only way so that the entire class can have fun together.

For people that can go for both ice skating ($15) and steamboat ($15) , that will be the best. The budget might be $30 if coming for both. Anyway, this is the plan:

Time: 11am -5pm (Ice Skating), 6pm-8pm (steamboat)
Meeting place: Jurong East MRT station (ice skating)

The venue for ice skating is at Fuji Ice palace, which is near the jurong east mrt station.
As we are going in groups of four and more, we get to enjoy ice skating until 5pm for $15.
The $15 include the admission fee and the skating shoes. Only thing you need to bring is gloves, for protection if you are a beginner and money ($15 for admission and etc). If you do not have gloves, you can purchase it over there. It is advised to wear long pants/jeans and thick socks (normal socks also can).

For people that do not want to go for ice skating or is unable to come early, you can come meet us for steamboat at 6pm. I hope everyone can go for both, its' a good chance for the class to enjoy a whole day of fun. Regarding where to go for steamboat is still undecided, so I hope everyone can recommend some places for steamboat.

So, thats the plan for now. I know the total cost is a bit exp, but its the only time the entire class can go out together so I think its worth it. If everyone is ok with the current plan, please sms me to confirm you are going. If many of us can't make it on that day, the class outing might be cancelled. If got any suggestion or questions, feel free to tag or sms.

From the survey, the date of the class outing can't seem to be fixed as not everyone are available at some days. Based on what I see, the most number of people free on the same days are on the week 28 Sept to 4 Oct. Can everyone further confirm the days available on that week? Sorry to trouble you guys, please send in your available dates to the class email.

As to what the class outing is about, it is hard to decide as many of you guys have different decisions. Majority of us chose steam boat or ice skating. Please indicate whether you want steam boat or ice skating together with your available dates on the week between 28 Sept to 4 Oct.

The Red Marbles

I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes. I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily apprising a basket of freshly picked green peas. There beside him, stands Mr Miller.

Mrs. Miller, who had been standing nearby, came over to help me. “There are two other boys like him in our community, all three are in very poor circumstances. Jim just loves to bargain with them for peas, apples, tomatoes, or whatever. When they come back with their red marbles, and they always do, he decides he doesn’t like red after all and he sends them home with a bag of produce for a green marble or an orange one, when they come on their next trip to the store.”

Not long later, I left that town. One day, I heard the news that Mr. Miller had died. They were having his visitation that evening and knowing my friends wanted to go, I agreed to accompany them. Upon arrival at the mortuary we fell into line to meet the relatives of the deceased and to offer whatever words of comfort we could.

Ahead of us in line were three young men. One was in an army uniform and the other two wore nice haircuts, dark suits and white shirts…all very professional looking. They approached Mrs. Miller, standing composed and smiling by her husband’s casket. Each of the young men hugged her, kissed her on the cheek, spoke briefly with her and moved on to the casket.
Her misty light blue eyes followed them as, one by one, each young man stopped briefly and placed his own warm hand over the cold pale hand in the casket. Each left the mortuary awkwardly, wiping his eyes.

Our turn came to meet Mrs. Miller. With her eyes glistening, she took my hand and led me to the casket.

“Those three young men who just left were the boys I told you about. They just told me how they appreciated the things Jim “traded” them. Now, at last, when Jim could not change his mind about color or size. They came to pay their debt.” “We’ve never had a great deal of the wealth of this world,” she confided, “but right now, Jim would consider himself the richest man in Idaho .”

With loving gentleness she lifted the lifeless fingers of her deceased husband. Resting underneath were three exquisitely shined red marbles.

Story of the Week!

Attitude

Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Michael was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or ... you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood." Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or... I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.
"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.
"Yes, it is," Michael said.

"Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life."
I reflected on what Michael said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it. Several years later, I heard that Michael was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Michael was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back. I saw Michael about six months after the accident.

When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.

"The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter," Michael replied.
"Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or... I could choose to die. I chose to live."

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.
Michael continued, "... the paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Michael.
"She asked if I was allergic to anything.
'Yes, I replied.' The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity'." Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead!"

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Attitude, after all, is everything. After all, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
LIVE IS ABOUT THE LITTLE CHOICES WE MAKE EVERY DAY !

- know how to calculate the amount of volume to be aspirated, plot the standard curve (straight line graph), find the concentration of unknown from the graph
- read your previous practical manual (Bradford Essay) before the test
- no theory questions

MUST TAKE NOTE:
- bring lab coat, calculator, ruler & permanent marker (to label)
- come in covered shoes and tied hair (those with long hair)
- clear the bench top and dispose waste properly
- KNOW how to pipette properly (if not immediate failure)
= when aspirating, push till first knob, submerge into solution then aspirate
= when dispensing, push till first knob then push slightly more to totally dispense the solution
- avoid requesting for more solution and no borrowing from others
- DO NOT TALK (raise your hand if there is any problem)

As we all know every wednesday is a free day!
So some have suggested to study together

Puppies For Sales

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the puppies and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle,"Here, Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.

As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared; this One noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up.

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.
Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

Care for those around you and appreciate them just as they are.
Be sensitive to other people feelings and needs
Everyone wants to be understood
There was a phrase: "Seek first to understand, then to be understood!"

Story of the Week!

The four Wives

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men. He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times. Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone.

How lonely I'll be!"
Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.
The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.
Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"

Actually, we all have 4 wives/husbands in our lives:
a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.
b. Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.
c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, our spirit where our character and personality develops. we often neglected it in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure. We twist them as we fight for our desire, and hurt people on the way.

Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament.

Story of the Week!

A wise donkey

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.

They each grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer looked down the well, and was astonished at what he saw.As every shovel of dirt hit his back, the donkey did something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed, as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of a hole is to shake it off and take a step up.Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest holes just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!

Story of the week!

The Brick

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown.

The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?"

The young boy was apologetic."Please, mister... please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do," He pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop... "

With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car."It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts.A quick look told him everything was going to be okay.

"Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home. It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message.

"Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!" Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, someone has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

A mouse looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package. He discovered that it was a mouse trap. Retreating to the farmyard the mouse proclaimed the warning:"There is a mouse trap in the house, a mouse trap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Excuse me, Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."
The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mouse trap in the house, a mouse trap in the house!"

"I am so very sorry Mr. Mouse," sympathized the pig, "but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured that you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow. She said, "You say, Mr. Mouse. A mouse trap? Like I am in grave danger....NOT!"

So the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mouse trap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house, like the sound of a mouse trap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see that it was a venomous snake. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer's wife fell sick with a fever. The farmer rush her to the hospital to get medicine, then return home to rest. Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

His wife's sickness continued hence friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did get well and to celebrate her recovery, a party was held at the farm. So many people came, thus the farmer had the cow slaughtered, to provide meat for all of them to eat.

So the next time you hear that someone is facing a problem and think that it does not concern you, remember that when the least of us is threatened, we all may be at risk. Think twice before making any decision. Your decision will affect whether the whole group, as a team or family survive through any obstacles or times of difficulty.

Story of the Week!
The story of two pebbles

Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain.

He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So the cunning money-lender suggested that they let providence decide the matter. He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag. If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven. If she picked the white pebble, she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven. But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag.

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.

"Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked."

Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the money-lender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an extremely advantageous one.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Most complex problems do have a solution. It is only that we don't attempt to think. Start your day with this thought provoking story and have a nice day.

NEW STORY!!!

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead.

Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out.

When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

This story teaches two lessons:

1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.

2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them.Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path.

The power of words... it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another.

i saw this story somewhere on my friend's blog
it's a story abt telling you to cherish what you have...espiecially your special half...

Once there was this girl and this guy...
they were so in love with each other...
they were together for 3 years...
During this 3 years the girl took good care of the guy...
Always answering and helping his needs...
There was never once that she rejected him, when he asked her for help.
The girl knows how to do household chores and she always do it well,
keeping the house clean n tidy...
however there is a thing that she never knoew how to do...
which is to COOK...
For the entire of 3 years, the couples alwas ordered take away food, or when the guy is free, he'll cook.

Until one day...
The guy mother is making a visit to thier house,
as the mother always heard her son praising about how good the girl was...
The mother wanted the girl to cook a meal that day...
the girl was so scared, she beg n beg n plead the guy to help her to cook instead..
but the guy had an important meeting that day...
so instead the guy told her that,
"i would like to help you ,my dear but i have and important meeting that day, also it cant be that you are always relying on me to cook, you have to learn it somehow. I've faith in you..."

On that faithful day,
the guy's mother came....
and of course that girl cant cook...
the mother was furious, so they seat waiting for the guy to reach home....
The guy was overjoyed to see his mum, but once he saw the angry face, he knew what had happened, he was dissapointed....
Thus, he brought everyone out for dinner.

At the restaurant, the girl kept eating white rice as if it's so delicious
The mum couldnt understand the girl, the mother feel humiliated..
Finally, the guy's mom could no longer take it anymore and walked out of the restaurant.
The guy follow suit...
and that was the end of him and her...

For 1 year, the guy was so lonely
he just couldnt find any girl that he likes...

1 year later,
the guy and the girl met coincidentally,
the guy suggested of going to a cafe to have a drink
they sat down and have a chat..ordered some drinks and talk about what had happen after the broke up.

As usual the guy ordered his fav drink, and the girl, a cup of black coffee...
while chit chating the girl casually drink her coffee
and suddenly the guy stopped talking
he asked the girl:
"drinking black coffee without any sweeterner or sugars? hey girl the coffee is really bitter..."
The girl paused, staring at the coffee...
The guy sensed something wrong and he half-jokingly said that " it's not as if you have no sense of taste...too bitter isnt good for health either..."
However, the girl looked straight into his eyes and said " after so many years you didnt realise that something is wrong with me...?"

The guy was stunned...
The girl continued saying " i had lost my sense of taste due to a high fever when i was 8 years old.....my fiance know about my handicap since we started dating..."
After hearing that sentence, he was more shock to say anything.
Not only that the guy had lost the girl, what he regretted the most is, he didnt pay attention to his girlfriend and took everything for granted...
Then, he asked " why is it that you always said what i cooked for you is delicious?"
the girl replied " because it's you that cooked it..."

It was too late, nothing is going to change
after all these years, he didnt know about his girlfriend handicap....
and yet the girl do her best to be as normal as everyone...yet took care of his daily needs, know about every of his likes and dislikes....
now the guy finally know why the girl couldnt wipped a meal

such a nice girl, but yet he didnt treasure it...
it was all too late.....

Story of the week!

The Fence

There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail in the back fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence.

Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us. Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Hospital Window

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.

It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy.

"Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."

Story of the week!

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a call telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of his father's belongings. When he arrived at his father's house, he began to search for his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago.

With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss to cherish what we have because they are not packaged as we expected it to be?

Stumpy replied, "Well, I was gonna say something when Martha fell out, but ten dollars is ten dollars."

Upon leaving, the brunette tells her sister, "When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home." The brunette arrives at the man's ranch, inspects the bull, and decides she wants to buy it. The man tells her that he will sell it for $599, no less.
After buying him, she drives to the nearest town to send her sister a telegram to tell her the news. She walks into the telegraph office, and says, "I want to send a telegram to my sister telling her that I've bought a bull for our ranch. I need her to hitch the trailer to our pickup truck and drive out here so we can haul it home."
The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help her, then adds, "It's just 99 cents a word."
Well, after paying for the bull, the brunette only has $1 left. She realizes that she'll only be able to send her sister one word.
After thinking for a few minutes, she nods, and says, "I want you to send her the word "comfortable". The telegraph operator shakes his head. "How is she ever going to know that you want her to hitch the trailer to your pickup truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch if you send her the word, "comfortable?'"
The brunette explains, "My sister's blonde. The word's big. She'll read it slow. - - - -("com-for-da-bul" )

HELLO PEOPLE

A few things to take note:

Complete ABC quiz on cms before monday, 5 may

Complete HBD report by tuesday, 6 may

Complete Marketing tuorials by thursday, 8 may

MBT practical lesson will start next wednesday. Remember to come for practical and properly attired.

DO check your mails and the blog often for updates!

Any problems, you can turn to TM or me, we'll try our best to help you!

Here is a list of workshops, where you people can attend.

If anyone interested to attend the workshop, do send an email and give your name to the respective trainer. From my understanding, these workshops will be conducted on wednesday's afternoon, 1500. Those who attend will get 10 PGC (Personal Growth Calculator) Points.

Highlights for all module reps

Module reps should assist module coordinator/tutor with anything in relation to specific module.

Collection and accountability of all lab reports.

Any messages/instructions should be disseminated to the rest of the class promptly.

Laboratory I/Cs

- They ensure cleanliness and orderliness of laboratory.

-All stools are pushed back in a tidy manner prior-replace all used "garbage" bags

--> if they use the beaker with bags on table top for their pipette tips, tie and throw away old one and replace with new one. Bags are provided.

--> if they are doing cell tech, biohazard bins should be cleared when full and not allowed to overflow. Bags are provided in side drawers.

- Bench tops to be cleaned and items used to be returned to where they were obtained.

so finally after so long we got our blog done!!!
